I noticed that the new version is compressed only..on previous versions the compressed files took a sec or 2 longer to run the fb windows... has there been a change to the compression in the new version.

Same compression and loading strategy in 3.52 as was in 3.50 and 3.51. YUI compressor. I have no theories to explain the different load times you are seeing, but at least the change has been on the +ve side.
