Hi, first thanks for floatbox, its is a nice piece of software.
I just started using it, and in IE I have a very smooth fade and resize
(just images).

But in FF3 the fade and resize is not smooth, it seems to depend on what is
on the original page.
I believe that parts of the underlying page are rendered and displayed at different times.

(in video land, you get the same result when not waiting for vsync after
updating a frame)

Is there a way to synchronize all updates?

I know exactly what you mean by the choppy rendering that FF3 does. I don't know of anything that can be done to improve. FF2 rendered fine, but with FF3 they moved to a new rendering engine. This one paints overlayed components exactly as you say - based on the underlying page elements. If you have images, video, or iframes on the underlying page you can see it filling in, say, the text areas of the base page, then the images, and then the iframe areas. This unsmooth painting is a choice of the rendering engine and I have not found anyway to force it to behave differently. My heart sank a little when I saw this step backwards when going from FF2 to FF3. Perhaps one day I'll do a bunch of screen captures and test cases and submit that to the Firefox team as a bug report to see if they might fix it.
